Marketplaces hit $112 billion in 2020

As a result of lockdowns in almost all countries in the world people spend more time at home and use their mobile gadgets as often as possible. Moreover spent time in mobile apps and games set a new annual record. Games is the category where users spend most time this year. Downloads through this category hit 130 billion mark across Google play (45%)  and iOS (30%). Interesting fact that largest contributors on country level were India, Brazil and Japan for Google play and US, Japan and Saudi Arabia in iOS.

Mobile gaming hit new heights in 2020

Breakout games by year-over-year growth in 2020 include: 

Users spent 3.3 trillion hours on Android phones

This number is 25% higher than in 2019. Definitely, we should understand that usage of mobile apps for communication and business contributed in large part for this growth. According to App Annie report apps for collaboration and calls like Zoom or Google meet show 200% growth.
